PURPOSE / SCOPE:
Provide guidelines for allocating work areas
All ICOM office allocations are made according to the following criteria:
- Classification of position including responsibilities, title and rank
- Input from departmental heads / supervisors
- Adjacency to departments offices associated with job responsibilities
- Availability of work areas / offices
The ICOM building has 3 floors and has work areas on all floors.
Student Services: allocation of work areas / offices are determined by the Assistant Dean for Student Services based on position and responsibilities
Library: allocation of work areas are determined by the Director of Library Services
IT: allocation of work areas are determined by the Director of IT
Facilities/Security: allocation of work areas is determined by the Director of Facilities
Clinical Simulation (OSCE & SIM Center): allocation of work areas is determined by the Director of Clinical Simulation
OMM Lab: allocation of work areas is determined by the Chair of OPP
The third floor houses the majority of administration, faculty and staff.
Initial allocation of offices is made by the Director of Facilities Operations, President, or Dean, based upon the criteria above.
Where there are offices which have no current allocation, they may be utilized by faculty or staff, with justification and with prior approval from the Director of Facilities Operations, President, or Dean. However, it must be recognized that any such use may be temporary and the office may be reallocated to someone else as per the listed guidelines. At such time, the person utilizing that space will be moved back to another work area/office which may not be the originally assigned space as it may have been reallocated in the meantime.
