PURPOSE / SCOPE:
Provide guidelines for visitors to the ICOM Campus.
POLICY:
Authorized visitors are welcome at ICOM, however, individuals who do not have legitimate reasons for being on the campus are not allowed to remain in the building or to use campus facilities, parking lots and commons areas. Most ICOM visitors will be pre-arranged, although some may be drop-ins or casual visitors.
Pre-arranged visitors:
- Applicants for employment
- Prospective or Accepted Students and their family members/friends
- Representatives from suppliers and vendors
- Pre-arranged tours
- Contractors
- Standardized Patients
- COCA representatives
- General public (generally pre-arranged)
- Community representatives
- ISU faculty and staff
- Family and friends of ICOM employees
It is important for safety and security that we have a standard way in which visitors are received and managed. To facilitate this, we have the following rules:
- Normal visiting hours are 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday - Friday (excluding holidays)
-
All visitors should enter through the main (South) entrance
-
All visitors must sign in at reception using the Visitor Kiosk
-
All visitors and groups must be accompanied by an ICOM employee or student
-
The visiting employee or student is responsible for the visitor(s) until they check out and depart the property. Visitors are required to check-out using the Visitor Kiosk unless checked out by the Receptionist or Campus Security
-
All visitors should be identified by a wearing a visitor’s badge
-
Anyone not visibly wearing a badge should be directed/escorted to Reception
-
Visitors without appointments may be refused entry
-
Access to some areas may be restricted for visitors depending upon the reason for their visitation or because of testing, ongoing lectures or in-person training labs such as OSCE, OPP, manikin simulations, etc.
-
Visitors may use the guest access to the WiFi network but should not be given access to any other network.
-
Family and friends of ICOM students and employees are subject to the same rules.
-
Visitors using ICOM parking spaces should typically display a visitor’s parking permit, available at check-in. (Visitor’s parking permit may be issued by Campus Security or the Receptionist depending on necessity).
-
Seventeen visitor parking spaces are available on the south side of the building.
